How branch officials are elected.
The process of electing branch officials for the NAACP Santa Clarita Valley Branch begins with a call for nominations from the membership. Nominations are then reviewed by a nominating committee, which selects a slate of officers to be voted on by the membership at the next general meeting.
All members in good standing are eligible to vote, and officers are elected by a simple majority of votes cast. In the event of a tie, the president-elect serves as the tie-breaker. Once elected, officers serve two-year terms and can be re-elected to serve multiple terms.
